Interference: My hands crawl among the ruins

from Kom-pohst by Eamon Sprod, John Grzinich, Simon Whetham

/

about

Themes/Compositional notes:
The exploration of sites of interference. The sounds of people active within their surrounds, disturbing the debris, the wildlife and the silence. And the surrounds reacting right back; wind on microphones, stray radio signals, objects intervening to trip recordings up.
The exploration of sites and zones of interference, from trawling the invisible radiophonic fields of the atmosphere to the tactile debris of agricultural relics.

Originally featured as part of the Soundproof series, commissioned by ABC Radio, Australia.
